Just over a year after Christmas Tree Shops opened its new location at the Holyoke Crossing shopping plaza , the Wall Street Journal reports the discount home goods store may file for bankruptcy as early as this weekend. Wall Street Journal reporters stated sources familiar with the situation said the company plans to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will hire Boston law firm Murphy & King for the probable filing. Christmas Tree Shops has about 80 stores across the east coast and 15 in Massachusetts.
